Parent and Tots takes place every Tuesday and is delivered in partnership with East Belfast Sure Start. The programme focuses on children’s early years development.
Weekly activities help children build skills which are vital for their early years growth and development. These skills include fine motor skills, socialisation, creativity, and communication with others.
It is also an opportunity for parents to get to know each other and to form friendships.

Rugrats Afterschool Club takes place every Tuesday and Friday. These weekly sessions help build children’s skill sets including team building, listening, communication, and allow an opportunity for creativity and imagination.
The Rugrats explore the world around them through various educational activities and arts & crafts sessions. The children enjoy playing games and making use of the playpark outside, they learn more about themselves and develop their own personalities. Most importantly, they have fun!

Young Mums and their babies meet every Wednesday morning. Childcare opportunities are provided for young mums to take part in a range of activities, workshops and courses aimed at reducing isolation, capacity building, enhancing self-confidence and increasing their employability.
This project has had a positive impact on participants and has given some of the confidence to enrol in education, gain qualifications and have an overall improved outlook on life.

Walkway Women’s group meet every Wednesday evening. The women meet in a safe, secure environment where they engage in a wide range of activities including health & wellbeing programmes, good relations, arts & culture and personal development projects. We aim to build confidence, self esteem and support women to reach their full potential.
Our women enjoy the social aspect of being together and networking, having time for tea and a chat, having outings, meeting new people and engaging with other users and members of our community. The women assist in the design and delivery of many projects and seasonal events in Walkway Community Centre.

Youth Club and Drop-in sessions bring young people together to participate in programmes and have fun! They learn new skills, meet new people, build confidence and learn more about themselves. The programmes include Health & Wellbeing, Community Safety, Good Relations, and are delivered in partnership with other organisations/ youth groups such as Education Authority, Belfast City Council, PCSP, PSNI and New Lodge Youth Centre. Young people assist in the design of the programmes based on their needs.

Walkway Happy Hookers meet every Friday from 1pm-3pm for crochet and knitting.
This is a warm and friendly social group which aims to encourage people to connect with others, meet new friends and reduce isolation.
The group is aimed at people who have an interest in crochet and knitting and is a great place to learn new skills and to share your skills, tips and patterns with others.

We are in the process of creating a Community Garden at Walkway Community Centre, supported by Belfast City Council and Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful- Live Here Love Here.
The garden will be a great asset for the community and centre users when complete. We are looking forward to engaging the children and young people in planting workshops as part of the garden development.
